16.4.8. Check of the current consumed from the storage battery at switched-off ignition

GENERAL INFORMATION

This check allows to define the current consumed from the battery at switched-off ignition. The normal current consumed by the electric equipment of the car at switched-off ignition and all consumers should be in limits from 0,005 to 0,025 A.Tok in size 0,0025 A it is required for maintenance of functioning of memory of the control unit by the engine.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check that all electric consumers are switched off. Switch off all lighting, take out a key from the lock of ignition and close doors.
2. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
3. Establish on a digital tester a limit of measurement of the biggest current and include it between a wire disconnected from the storage battery and the negative plug of the storage battery.
4. If the current shown by the device exceeds 0,025 And, serially remove safety locks while the current will not be less than 0,025 A.Eto will allow to define an electric chain with additional consumption of electric energy.
5. If after a detachment of safety locks the consumed current exceeds the established value, disconnect the electric socket from the generator.
6. If thus the current decreased to 0,025 мА, check system of a charging of the storage battery.
7. After repair and elimination of malfunctions repeatedly check the current consumed from the storage battery at switched-off ignition.
