GENERAL INFORMATION

Steering column

1–button of inclusion of a sound signal;
2–washer and nut;
3–steering wheel;
4–casing of a steering column;
5–the combined switch;
6–ignition lock; 		7–steering column assembled;
8–universal hinge;
9–coupling bolt;
10-dustproof cover;
11-intermediate shaft;
12-adjusting plate.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
2. Establish forward wheels for rectilinear movement.
3. Turn out bolts and remove the button of inclusion of a sound signal from a steering wheel.
4. Disconnect the electric socket from the switch of a sound signal.
5. Put combination labels on a steering shaft and a steering wheel for the correct repeated installation.
6. Turn out a lock nut and remove a spring ring from an end face of a steering shaft.
7. A stripper remove a steering wheel. After removal of a steering wheel from a shaft pass through it wires.
Prevention

Do not remove a steering wheel striking with a hammer on a shaft end face. It will lead to damage of bearings and shaft carvings.
8. Turn out three bottom screws and remove casings of a steering column.
9. Turn out two bottom nuts of fastening of an arm of a steering column.

10. Turn out three screws of fastening of the combined switch.
11. Disconnect the electric socket from the combined switch
12. Shifting on a steering column remove the combined switch.
13. Turn out the top bolts of fastening of a steering column.
14. Disconnect the electric socket from the ignition lock.
15. A chisel make a groove for a screw-driver in the head of bolts of fastening of the lock of ignition.
16. A screw-driver turn out bolts of fastening of the lock of ignition.
Prevention

Fix a steering shaft in a vice which sponges are closed by brass plates.
17. Turn out a coupling bolt of the universal hinge.
18. Turn out two bottom nuts of fastening of an arm of a steering column.
19. Remove a steering column from the car.
20. Remove an adjusting plate and a dustproof cover.
21. Turn out a coupling bolt of fastening of an intermediate shaft.

Check

Check a steering shaft and a column on absence of deformation, damages and cracks and, if necessary, replace the damaged details.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Screw a coupling bolt of fastening of an intermediate shaft.

Inhaling moment: 17–26 N • m

2. Establish an adjusting plate and a dustproof cover.

Inhaling moment: 5,8–8,8 N • m

3. Screw a coupling bolt of the universal hinge.

Inhaling moment: 17–26 N • m

4. Establish the universal hinge of a steering column in an intermediate shaft and fix a bolt, having tightened it by hand.
5. Screw the top bolt of fastening of a steering column.

Inhaling moment: 16–22 N • m

6. For installation of a steering column move it in the direction of a steering shaft. The gap between a bolt of fastening of the lower part of a steering column and an arm should not exceed 0,5 mm.

Inhaling moment: 18–26 N • m

7. Tighten a bolt of fastening of an intermediate shaft.

Inhaling moment: 17–26 N • m

8. Put the lock of ignition and fix bolts, having tightened them till cutting of heads of bolts.
9. Connect to the ignition lock the electric socket.

10. Establish the combined switch on a steering column.
11. Connect to the combined switch the electric socket.
12. Tighten a bolt of fastening of the combined switch.
13. Establish an arm.
14. Establish the top and bottom casings of a steering column.
15. According to earlier put labels establish a steering wheel.

16. Establish a spring ring and screw a lock nut.

Inhaling moment: 39–49 N • m
17. Establish the button of a sound signal.
18. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the storage battery.
