4.10. Thermostat

GENERAL INFORMATION

Sequence of removal of the thermostat

1–bolt, 19–25 N • m;
2–top hose of a radiator;
3–thermostat cover;
4–laying;
5–thermostat

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
2. Merge cooling liquid in the suitable container.
3. Disconnect from a thermostat cover the top hose of a radiator.
4. Turn out bolts of fastening of a cover of the thermostat.
5. Uncover the thermostat and the thermostat.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Visually check a thermostat condition.
2. On a thread suspend the thermostat in a transparent vessel with water.
3. Insert into water the thermometer, heat up a vessel with water and watch the thermostat valve. Define temperature of the beginning of opening and complete opening of the valve of the thermostat.

Temperature of the beginning of opening of the valve of the thermostat: 86,5–89,5 °C.
Temperature of complete opening of the valve of the thermostat: 100 °C.
Thermostat valve stroke: 8,0 mm

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the thermostat in a head of the block of cylinders so that the valve for removal of air settled down from above.
2. Establish new laying of the thermostat. At installation of laying be convinced that the label on laying is from a head of the block of cylinders.
3. Establish a casing of the thermostat and fix a bolt and nuts.
4. Fill in in cooling system necessary amount of demanded cooling liquid.
5. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the storage battery.
6. Start up the engine and check absence of leaks from cooling system.
