Your car is equipped with the electronic immobilizer allowing considerably to reduce risk of stealing of the car. The system of an immobilizer consists of the transmitter which has been built in in the ignition key, the wire of the aerial which has been built in in the lock of ignition and the operating block of an immobilizer (UBI). If to insert a key into the lock and to turn it in situation "Is included" (ON), the aerial will receive a signal from the transmitter and will transfer it in UBI. UBI supervises correctness of a signal. If the signal correct, the engine is started up, if is not present, the engine will not be started up.
Prevention
If you wish to change a confidential code of blocking system of the car, it is necessary to address to authorized dealer Kia. After change of this code it is necessary to provide reliable storage of a confidential code.
Immobilizer deactivation:
Insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in situation "Is included" (ON).
Immobilizer activation: Turn the ignition key in situation "Is switched off" (OFF).
