Relay block

1–relay of the fan of a radiator;
2–relay of a heater of back glass;
3–relay of the alarm light system;
4–relay of a sound signal.

Safety locks serve to break off a chain when the current will reach a certain value to protect elements and wires which can be damaged by too strong current.

The sharp increase in a current is usually caused by malfunction in a chain, more often short circuit.


The block of the relay is established in car salon at the basis of a forward rack. The general relay is established on an arm of support of a radio receiver.

1. An ohmmeter check conductivity of fuses.
2. If the safety lock fused, means in a chain which it protects, there is a short circuit. Before replacement of a safety lock define and eliminate the reason of short circuit.


The safety lock fuses during 15 with if the current proceeding through a safety lock, exceeds its nominal rate.



Be convinced that the safety lock is reliably fixed in a nest. Check, whether there corresponds capacity of a safety lock of the corresponding chain which it protects. Before safety lock removal, switch off the corresponding chain (or ignition), then get a safety lock from contacts. In a safety lock the wire should be visible; if the safety lock fused, the wire will be torn or melted.

Always use safety locks of the demanded capacity. Never use a safety lock of other capacity and do not replace it with something another.

Do not replace a safety lock more than once, without having eliminated a malfunction source. The current protected by a safety lock, is specified from above a safety lock: pay attention that safety locks have various colors for simplification of identification.

If the safety lock fuses right after replacement, do not replace it again, yet do not establish, and do not eliminate a cause of defect. In most cases a cause of defect is the short circuit caused by a low insulation. If the safety lock protects some chains, try to find a chain because of which fuses a safety lock, including each of chains in turn (if it is possible). Always have a set of spare safety locks of various capacity in the car.
