Prevention
For check of a heater of back glass wrap up щуп the voltmeter an aluminum or tin foil to prevent damage of a current-carrying strip of a heater. For definition of break it is necessary to press a finger a foil and to move it along a current-carrying strip.
1. Start up the engine and include a heater of back glass. |
2. Connect negative щуп the voltmeter to "mass" of the car. |
3. In turn connect щуп the voltmeter to the center of each current-carrying strip of a heater of back glass. The voltmeter should show tension about 6 Century. |
4. If the voltmeter shows tension 12 In, means, the current-carrying strip of a heater has break from outside between a point of connection of the voltmeter and the party of a heater connected to "weight". |
5. If the voltmeter shows tension below 0 In, means, the current-carrying strip of a heater has break from outside between a point of connection of the voltmeter and the party of a heater connected to the positive plug of the storage battery. |
6. For definition of a point of a gap, move щуп on a current-carrying strip of a heater to the relevant party. The point where the tension shown by the voltmeter, sharply changed and is a gap place. |
7. By an ohmmeter measure resistance of each current-carrying strip between the lateral plug of a heater and the center of each strip. The section of a strip having a gap will have resistance twice above than resistance of other strips of a heater. |
