8.2.4. Testing of a time lag (Lag test)

GENERAL INFORMATION

In engine operating time on frequency of idling when moving the lever of a choice of a mode of movement from a neutral position before operation will be felt there should be a time lag.

Testing of a time lag is check of operability of N-D, 1-2 and N-R of accumulators, forward and unilateral couplings, couplings of inclusion of a backing and brake tapes of forward bottom transfers and backing transfer.

Testing


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Start up the engine.
2. Check frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine idling.

Frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine idling:
For Europe and Australia: 750-850 mines-1
The general: 700-800 mines-1

3. Move the selector lever from "N" position to a position "D".
4. By a stop watch measure time from the moment of moving of the lever before transmission operation.
5. At the working engine move the selector lever to a position N and leave the engine to work at frequency of rotation of idling within, at least, one minute.

Prevention

Operation of the engine within, at least, one minute on frequency of rotation of idling cools transmission liquid and prevents deterioration of its properties.

Before each subsequent testing during sufficient time cool a transmission.

Execute on three testings on each mode and calculate average value of a delay.


6. Similarly hold testing when moving the lever of the selector to the following provisions:

a. positions N> D;
b. positions N> D (the O/D switch in the situation OFF);
c. positions N> R

Delay: positions N> D 0,5~0,6 with
Delay: positions N> R 0,6~0,7 with
